Post Operation Recovery
The aim of post-operative physiotherapy is to reduce pain, promote healing and enhance recovery of strength, stamina and function.
Most commonly we treat people following orthopaedic operations such as knee & shoulder arthroscopies, knee meniscectomies, knee & ankle ligament reconstructions, spinal surgery and shoulder, hip & knee replacements. We also treat women after difficult labours and Caesaren section operations and people who have gone through general abdominal and muscular tear operations.
People are often left with pain, movement problems and muscle dysfunction after operations. This can be as a result of the trauma of the operation itself and / or the original reason for the operation (trauma of a fall or condition like Osteoarthritis). It is irrational to have a multi-thousand pound operation and not go through a complete rehabilitation afterwards.
